Materials used for shielding covers
Shielding covers are mainly designed to prevent electromagnetic interference and can shield components and LCM on PCBs.
The widely used ones on the market are: fixed shielding covers (directly welded to the PCB with SMT), and removable shielding covers (combined with the structure and LCM or directly buckled with the protrusions on the shielding cover on the shielding frame).
The materials used for shielding covers are generally: stainless steel, galvanized steel strip, nickel silver, brass, etc., but nickel silver is the most effective. Because it has good shielding effect, good conductivity, fatigue resistance, and oxidation resistance, especially nickel silver has deep drawing performance, which meets the high demand for the production of shielding covers. Therefore, although it is more expensive than stainless steel and other materials, most people still choose nickel silver as the raw material for shielding covers.
