Key Points for Bending Processes of Different Materials


1. Cold-rolled steel sheet (SPCC)

Good plasticity, small bending radius (≤ material thickness), no preheating required, optimal processability, suitable for bending complex shapes.


2. Stainless steel sheet (304/316)

 High strength, high springback, bending radius needs to be ≥ 1.5 times the material thickness; prone to work hardening during bending, requiring increased bending pressure, it is recommended to use a dedicated stainless steel bending die.


3. Aluminum sheet (5052/6061)

Good plasticity but low hardness, easily scratched, protective film needs to be applied during bending; springback is less than stainless steel, bending radius ≥ 1 times the material thickness; avoid excessive bending speed to prevent wrinkling of the sheet.
